The Malaysia Book of Brands, a prestigious publication by the Branding Association of Malaysia (BAM), has been officially launched, marking another milestone in documenting and showcasing the strength, achievements and legacies of Malaysian brands.
Created as a platform to introduce Malaysia’s outstanding brands to both local and international audiences, the publication features recipients of the Brand Legend Award — brands that have distinguished themselves through their achievements, reputation, resilience, innovation and contributions to their respective industries.
More than a collection of successful companies, the Malaysia Book of Brands tells a much bigger story:
The story of Malaysian excellence.
From established heritage brands and industry leaders to emerging Malaysian names shaping the future, every featured brand represents a different chapter in the evolution of Malaysia’s business and branding landscape.
Together, they demonstrate that Malaysia is capable not only of producing world-class products and services, but also of building brands that can be recognised, respected and remembered internationally.
The Malaysia Book of Brands was created with a purpose beyond recognition.
It seeks to preserve the journeys, milestones and legacies behind Malaysia’s remarkable brands while providing a platform to showcase their achievements beyond our borders.
As Malaysian companies increasingly expand into regional and international markets, brand reputation has become an important part of the country’s economic competitiveness.
The publication therefore serves as both a historical record and a gateway to greater international visibility — helping Malaysian brands connect, collaborate and create new opportunities globally.
The official launch was witnessed by distinguished leaders from government, business and Malaysia’s branding community, including YBhg. Dato’ Indera Abu Bakar Yusof, CEO of MATRADE; YBhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin, Mayor of Subang Jaya; Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Soh Thian Lai; BAM President Michelle Hah; Dato’ Jennifer Ong; Prof. Dato’ Dr Lewre Lew; Datuk Dr Eric Chong; and Datin Dr Winnie Loo.
Also present were Aesos Lai and Cari Liew, Organising Chairpersons of the Brand Legend Awards; Jodness Tan, Editor-in-Chief of the Malaysia Book of Brands; and Yvonne Yoong, Editorial Director of the Malaysia Book of Brands.
Behind every great brand is a story.
Some began as small family businesses and grew across generations. Others transformed industries through innovation. Many survived economic crises, changing consumer behaviour and increasingly competitive markets.
The Malaysia Book of Brands ensures that these journeys are not forgotten.
Through the Brand Legend Award and this publication, BAM seeks to honour those who have contributed to Malaysia’s branding landscape while inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs to think beyond building companies.
The greater ambition is to build brands that last.
As Malaysia strengthens its position within ASEAN and the global economy, the message behind the Malaysia Book of Brands is clear:
Malaysian brands should not only succeed at home. They should be seen by the world.
Celebrating Our Brands. Preserving Their Legacies. Showcasing Malaysian Excellence.
From Malaysia to the World.
